Top Service From Prasa & Metrorail

We returned via ShosholozaMeyl on November 28, to Cape Town. Our train was a bit delayed because of Transnet infrastructure that was vandalized. Metrorail was also affected as both use Transnet infrastructure. Trains were not running.





Prasa did not leave us stranded when our train arrived from the north on Monday. Metrorail was on a standstill due to vandalism/sabotage. Our train arrived late because of that. We had no way to get home but Prasa went out of their way. The many who complain about petty things so often overlook the sterling service and valiant efforts.

"We returned from Beaufort West on ShosholozaMeyl late yesterday and were greatly assisted by PRASA security chief Mr Hendricks, very senior officer Loosch (?) as well as Tshazi. Ubuntu still exists at Cape Town Station, they did nor know I'm a travel blogger! Their kind-heartedness really proved to us that there are still good people about. How they helped us as well as two damsels in distress, was most encouraging. We had a super pleasant journey on ShosholozaMeyl and saw familiar, friendly PRASA faces such as Messrs De La Fontyn & Veldtsman as well as the ever friendly Sorayah Stemmet, Dining Car Manager. We have traveled with them before."





So many people complain about service but blame the victim, not the offender. Let us be loyal, instead, towards the individuals who bend over backwards to deliver their service to us. Open your eyes, start seeing the valiant effort from their side in the face of adversity. As for me, I salute them!
