Breakfast with a View - Mondiall V&A Waterfront
How I grew up, still defines how I appreciate life. There always is a quest for something better than the usual. Average is just sub-par. I have grown tired of the lacklustre service levels at so many restaurants around Cape Town.
If you, like me, are looking for that better experience, where you are served above average cuisine by well-trained staff, look no further. I have done the hunting for you. Here are your directions to Mondiall.
We have made reservations for two, 10AM and arrived a tad early. Several staff came to greet us, including Ms Crystal Bezuidenhoud who was introduced as the PR Manager. Our waitron was Admire, who proved himself to be very efficient and friendly.
After having been seated, we were offered drinks and we chose still water, which promptly appeared on our table. The breakfast menu was produced and my wife selected the Benedict option while I settled for a full English breakfast.
As usual, we shared our food and there is agreement that both dishes were just top class.
Dining at Mondiall is a classy affair. A fusion between classic and modern, tastefully decorated without being offensive in any way. Guests from any age group or culture should settle in with ease.
We were seated outside, in full view of Table Mountain and there were neatly trimmed rosemary bushes directly adjacent and these gave off a most lovely fragrance from their blossoms. It just added to the romantic breakfast atmosphere.
Our breakfast was served and the generous portions looked attractive and tasted really great. I also noticed that the olive oil was cold extracted and the balsamic vinegar wood matured, both hailed from Olyvenbosch, know for quality.
To the more discerning palate, Mondiall will be a good choice. I cannot think of a better venue to just have a meal, enjoy life with friends or have a business lunch with clients or partners.
The Mondiall Burger has become a celebrity in Cape Town, revered by both the elite and the skateboarders.
There are options for the #LCHF #Banting generation as well as for vegetarians, Vegans, etc. Food allergies can be considered and menu items are coded for dairy, gluten, etc.
I honestly believe that our breakfast was one of the best meals that we had ever enjoyed at the V&A Waterfront.
