Brekkie on a Budget - Wimpy Golden Acre

Golden Acre shopping centre was inaugurated in 1979 and I stand corrected, but I think that Wimpy has been there from the beginning.

Ideally situated on a mezzanine floor, Wimpy affords the patron extensive views of Adderley Street and Heerengracht.

There is a counter with laptop charging points and the entire Golden Acre is an AlwaysOn wireless hotspot.

Wimpy has to be the ideal diner suited to the mall shopper, office worker or casual tourist drifting by, looking for an affordable meal.  We did just that and enjoyed a breakfast, making use of the generous Double-Up special on a Monday.  our bill came to just R49 and a few cents for two of these delicious meals:

Coffee is a little extra but then we know theirs tastes good!

Of course, they are excellent for meals or desserts throughout the day, from sandwhices to beef steaks. Pretty much everything else in between.

Next time you are in the Cape Town CBD area and feel peckish, or perhaps ravenous, Wimpy is the place to be at as your won't be pestered by beggars while enjoying your meal. Unlike so many restaurants in the Golden Acre or surrounding area.

Service was really friendly and we will return, as we have been guests here so many times over several decades.  Bon appetit!
